About the founder.

My name is Domenique and I am the founder of The Amazing Movement. I’ve lived at least 7 lives - from being in the Air Force and serving Iraqi Freedom to being a cannabis union organizer and advocating for worker’s rights. My focus on the community continues with this mental health movement. I’ve traveled to work with other healers, therapists, and spiritual advisors in different parts of the world- some just fellow friends giving in ways that change perspectives. I’ve traveled to interview people about suicide, mental health practices in their community, and how love influences their lives. I started this journey because my father took his own life when I was 12. Since 12, I have been living life with curiosity and openness.

I was born in Prince George’s County, Maryland. Grew up mostly in Long Beach, California. I moved from Long Beach to Woodbridge, Virginia for 2 years in high school then circled back to Southern California to graduate from the same high school I started at - Wilson in Long Beach. For most of my life, I have operated in flight mode or consumed myself with so many hobbies giving me little room to feel and connect with my own emotions. Outbursts and confusion became annoying for me and those around me. Every day for too many years, after leaving the Air Force in 2009, I either woke up from a vivid nightmare or with thoughts like: “Why am I here”, “What's the point”, or “I hate it here”. My fleeting thought loops became relentless, my feelings felt uncontrollable, and my actions were unaligned with the goals I desired to accomplish. Childhood trauma, military experiences, and life doing its life thing put me in mental positions I was not thriving in. I needed to change and I was willing to do anything to do better and be better.

Today, I embrace radical self-love. I exist to heal the hurt of societal, childhood, and military influences on my life. I am most grateful for my own life experiences, gifting me the ability to connect with an incredible range of individuals. I’m done fighting with life and have been living it. Every day, I’m ready to let go of resistance and vibrate higher from my highest self. YOU CAN TOO!  I hope people around me feel safe doing the same. I go through continuous deaths and rebirths. Each time, I know it’s for a necessary change… for me to become better at flying.
